Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services

AASAS focuses on awareness and access to sexual violence. 

Alberta's One Line for Sexual Violence is a provincial online chat, text or phone line that connects people impacted by sexual violence by connecting them to resources.

Saffron Centre

Working towards supporting healing and empowerment of sexual violence. Counselling, public education, police and court support are available. Contact at

The Today Centre

Raises awareness and offers supports for persons impacted by family violence. A first stop for people experiencing family violence with free, short-term supports. Resources and safety planning are available. Contact

at 780-455-6880 Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

Family Violence Alberta

Family Violence Info Hotline for anonymous 24/7 help in over 170 languages at 310-1818 or chat available in English. Helplines, financial, rights, Clare's Law, Indigenous, and victim supports and services are available. 

Safer Cities Certificate

Tenants can terminate a tenancy agreement with their name on it without financial penalty through this confirmation that they are victims of domestic violence. Once the certificate is obtained, the tenant can use it to give a minimum 28 days notice to a landlord while paying rent for that time period.

Victim Services Alberta

Police based victim services in Alberta. Help for victims of crime, victims rights, restitution and recovery, justice programs, resources, and more are available. 

Crime and Trauma-Informed Support Services are available in Edmonton at 780-421-2217. 

Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE)

Programs include counselling for adults, children, youth, or groups, police and court support, public education, psychoeducation, and institutional support. 

A support and information line is available from 9 am - 9 pm at 780-423-4121.

Lives in Tranistion

A 12 or 24 week program for un- or under-employed women that experienced domestic violence, occurring Mon-Fri 9am - 2:30pm. 

LIT offers a transition into further education or employment.

Escaping Abuse Benefit

Apply if you are living in, have left, or do not have the means to leave an abusive family, do not qualify for other Alberta benefits, are 18+, and are a CAD citizen, permanent resident, or refugee/refugee claimant. Call

1-877-644-1952 weekdays 7:30am-8pm or 1-866-644-5135 on holidays & out of hours. 

The safest way to call a shelter is from a phone the abusive party cannot access. Call from a phone belonging to a friend, family, someone trustworthy, or use a public or work phone.
